Ray's Oshkosh '05 Scrapbook

My Oshkosh Scrapbook

From what I could remember

2005

We had a fun time at Oshkosh again this year,  I got there late on Wednesday, it was hard for me to find the right tents cause there were so many and they all looked alike.  When I finally found the right camp, Jim, Tom and Cindy already had our four tents set up.  The EAA made us stay in the ghetto side of the camp cause our conduct was bad last year.

Cindy is the resident Nurse at C81 … people are always asking her for band aids.  Here she is packing for her trip to Oshkosh, some of her nurse friends are helping her.

The rest of the scooter gang showed up later Wed. evening and was ready to work on our conduct again.

Oh wait … here is the correct picture …

Tom Built a runway with lights between the cars to aid the scooter gang on night approaches back to camp …  It didn’t work  … we ran over the lights.

Ken got to Oshkosh on Friday, he had a camp in the nicer area with trees… his conduct must have been good last year.  (not)

Ken and Tom brought scooters this year and one time when the scooter gang was on a ride,  they took their scooters up a really big hill … they almost fell down.

Sometimes in the morning, Jim would sing after going to the portapottie …

we would have to squeeze his head until he stopped.

Paul flew up to Oshkosh in his really cool airplane with 2 wings …  a lot of people gathered around to look at the plane,  he fell asleep under the wing sometimes, then people looked at him.

The scooter gang went over to the East side of camp again this year to see the other C81 people.  Terry gave us a tour of their motor home, Rich was inside with Charlie, Dick, John, Doc and some of their friends.  Boston Lenny couldn’t come this year due to outstanding warrants.

Terry took us to the basement of the motor home… Rich is always careful not to run out of alcohol.  As you can see, it was a very large motor home.

Charlie and Jody were there, Charlie was the head bartender, he played in the movie “Cocktail” … he was dancing, tossing glasses and bottles …. I’m sure he doesn’t remember, he is a Cessna pilot you know.

Dick and Nancy were there, Dick is a really good pilot with whole bunches of ratings; he used to fly really fast jets.  He always brings his certificates and ratings with him wherever he goes.  He hung them on the wall in their motor home for everyone to see.

Tim was there all week putting gas into the airplanes … they tried to get him to use the fuel truck but his dad taught him to do things the old fashioned way.

The scooter gang went to the seaplane base and one of the planes crashed and had to be towed to shore.  Just goes to show you … the scooter gang aren’t the only ones that crash.

On the way back to our camp, Jim and Cindy stopped at the port-a-potties.  Jim, being ever vigilant for flutter, sensed an approaching scooter.

Charlie was driving, with Shelley on back … he forgot which handle was the gas and which was the brake …. He crashed into the portapotties almost killing Cindy … there was a huge explosion “Oh the humanity ladies and gentlemen” … Shelley severely pounded on Charlies back calling him names I can’t repeat.

Everything turned out fine … Charlie was still able to cook and the wounded lined up to eat.

See ya’ll next year !!
